Stepped Care Solutions has been working with New Brunswick for several years as the province implements SC2.0, aiming to embed mental health and substance use health services within the broader healthcare system to create more accessible and timely care.

Throughout this past year, our work has focused on training to strengthen the province’s new Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) approach—a care-first model that that puts people’s needs first and recognizes their strengths and capacities—with One-at-a-Time (OAAT) counselling at the centre of change.

New Brunswick has also been a valuable collaborator in helping us evolve and improve our training services. The province’s need for efficient, bilingual training for frontline mental health clinicians and supervisors led us to strengthen our own capacity–delivering OAAT training and online learning resources in both English and French. This collaboration has enhanced support for providers in New Brunswick and has allowed us to serve more clients and jurisdictions across Canada.

Through this meaningful collaboration, New Brunswick’s stepped care implementation is evolving system capacities to better meet the needs of clients throughout the province.
